I received a 100ml bottle of Victoria’s Secret Bare Eau de Parfum for my birthday recently. It was on my list to try because the advertising campaign lured me in with the whole ‘smells like you but better’ thing and the fact it features Australian Sandalwood as a note. Ever since I had the pleasure of owning the (heartbreakingly) limited edition L’Occitane Figuier & Osmanthus fragrance three summer’s ago, I’ve been hooked on fig scents. In fact, I was so disappointed when I learned that it was limited edition and sold out, that I emailed L’Occitane HQ in the vain hope that they had a few bottles stashed away somewhere that I could secretly purchase (they didn’t). I’ll put my hand up and admit that this scent really caught me off guard! When I first heard about the Babe Power fragrance from Missguided, I didn’t really give it too much thought. I just assumed the scent would be a little too ‘young’ for me and I’ve actually never tried any high street type clothing retailer’s own branded fragrances before. Lovers of all things sweet will probably swoon over Philosophy Fresh Cream Eau de Toilette- at first sniff, I certainly did. The sophisticated glass bottle and simple clean label could fool you into thinking the fragrance is just as sophisticated and clean, but I assure you it is not!
