Drunk Elephant Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream

(Affiliate Links) I quite like most of the products I’ve tried from Drunk Elephant but, perhaps oddly, the Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream is my current favourite. As I’ve gotten a bit older, I’ve noticed I don’t get on with conventional deodorants that well. I find a lot of them quite irritating and actually ineffective and there are really only a couple of antiperspirants that seem to keep me smelling passable and feeling dry under the arms. Everything else just doesn’t seem to work for me anymore!
Since I’ve developed this strange resistance to ‘normal’ deodorants, I’m pretty much always in the market for a natural deodorant that works. I have tried plenty that, well, don’t, but Drunk Elephant Sweet Pitti does! For me, anyway.

At £14, this is an expensive deodorant, but if you’re anything like me, you’re probably willing to spend the extra cash if it’s going to stop you stinking. Sweet Pitti is a cream deodorant, and quite a ‘loose’ cream at that, which is probably why it’s packaged in a twist-up tube that dispenses the product through a few little holes in the top. For me, one twist is enough for both armpits – you can apply it directly from the tube or apply it with your fingertips if you like.
The formula is quite different to the usual natural formulas I’ve tried. This is a blend of Mandelic Acid and Arrowroot Powder, which work to eliminate odour and absorb moisture, combined with moisturising Shea Butter and plant oils including Marula, Baobab and Mongongo Seed. The plant oils are added in to immediately soothe any post-shaving/ waxing irritation, which I think is a great touch.

The deodorant cream smells a bit like Cherry Bakewell – it’s got quite a noticeable almond scent to it. I’ve read that the whole Drunk Elephant hair and body range smells like this too, which makes me very keen to try it! The almond/bakewell scent does seem to dissipate once the deodorant cream dries down, so if almond scents are not your thing, it shouldn’t stop you from trying Sweet Pitti.
This deodorant cream is not an antiperspirant, so it doesn’t stop you from actually sweating. What it does do, though, is neutralise odours so there’s no offensive armpit smells happening. When I use it I do sweat, but not nearly as much as I would if I was wearing nothing at all. It’s designed to be used once a day, but I have occasionally topped up throughout the day, especially if it’s a particularly hot one.
The formula is baking soda free, essential oil free and aluminium-derived ingredients free.
I got Drunk Elephant Sweet Pitti Deodorant Cream from SpaceNK.
