Lipstick I Love: Barry M Lip Paint in Shocking Pink

I know I'm a bit late in jumping on the Barry M bandwagon, but after trying out this aptly named 'Lip Paint' I'm fairly sure I'm the newest member of Barry's sprawling fanclub.

Those who know me are well aware of my fondness for red lipstick (especially good old Ruby Woo which I'm totally about to write a post on). For me, a vibrant true red is my fail safe option, the little black dress of my lips, if you will.
A good red makes me feel instantly more perky and strangely more confident (does anyone know what I mean by this?), but perhaps it's time to expand my lipstick horizons a little and experiment with some colours that are a little out of my comfort zone...like bright PINK :o

I'd heard many good things about the Barry M Lip Paints, so I figured I'd gve the brand a whirl for my debut into the world of matte pink pouts. My colour of choice? Shocking Pink (shade 52). I figure if you're going to do something, you may as well really do it. Here are the results:
This picture doesn't really do the colour justice - in reality it is a bit brighter, and kind of makes me feel like I should have a long suffering boyfriend by the name of Ken whom I live with in our dream home. In other words, a bit like Barbie.
I think I'll get a lot of wear out of this in the coming months as the weather warms up a bit and I start tanning a bit. It's a really fun, vibrant shade that is matte yet moisturing - the perfect pink!

Thanks for reading! Thoughts?

  1. Matte and PINK? Girl that's right up my alley! You can't buy Barry M in the US though, so oh well. :(
