New Year, New 'Do!

So, it's half past 1 in the morning and I'm typing away for the first time in a long time because I'm finally feeling brave (and delirious) enough to share a pic or two of my newly dyed hair.
Those of you follow my blog know that I'm currently having a love affair with vintage and rockabilly style, so I thought it was almost necessaryto do something a little fun and retro-ish to my hair. I've wanted a blonde stripe in my hair for a while, because I think it makes victory rolls and curls look a little more awesome. When I get an idea in my head, it's inevitable that I'm going to go through with it, no matter how ridiculous it looks on paper, and my hair is no exception.
Because I have a mop of thick, dark hair, a lot of hairdressers looked at me like I'm nuts (I am a bit) before promptly turning me away, telling me there's no way they could make me blonde. I was about to give up, when I came across the Ginger Group in Ealing  - a salon staffed by a lovely bunch who seemed positively excited about the prospect of bleaching where no man had dared before.
Cue five and a half hours in the chair, 3 magazines, 2 cups of coffee and 1 determined hairdresser and this is the result:

To be honest, I was a bit freaked out at first, but it's definitely growing on me (quite literally, sorry) and I like the fact that it's a little different to your typical highlights. I'm excited to play around with it and try out some victory rolls and pin curls.

P.S. My lovely sister got me Ruby Woo by MAC for Christmas, so thought I should take this opportunity to show that off too. It may just be the perfect red lipstick...

Thanks for reading :)
